Hey there,

Anyone with recomendations to entry level hosting compatible with BVSoftware 5?

Ideally with all the Bells and Whistles at a great price (always!), I am intending to customise and complete development on an internal host and then ftp and SQL script the components and DB to the host site and DB respectively.

Some candidates that appear to be well priced are www.discountasp.net at about $10 pm plus $10 for SQL2005 DB = $20 pm. There are a few others that I havent dealt with either (my current ISP only provides SQL 2000 :( )

Any suggestions would be appreciated,

Thanks in advance,
Marcus

I am planning on using Resposio as my hosting company. After researching the alternatives, Resposio seems to be the experts as far as BV hosting companies is concerned. If you look in the BV forums, Noah from Resposio, is always contributing his knowledge to questions/problems concerning BV software. I will be signing up with them this week.

Hello CorpGuy,
I have been using Noah, Resposio.com, for at least 10 years. In my opinion
he is the best out there. I think you will be pleased with his exceptional customer
service, Flawless Up-Time, site promotion and knowledge of BV Software.
Just my $.02

I feel the need to add a positive response for appliedi.net too. I just signed up less than a week ago and they had me up and running within the hour - even loaded the BV5 package and setup the permissions after I had a little difficulty. I also liked the benefits of appliedi.net, like the scan alert discounts that are part of the hosting package. I agree with the other posts too - having a host that supports the forums is a big plus! The great support network was the icing on the cake when making the decision to switch to BV5. Good luck.

I have tried too many hosts to list, and I would recommend appliedi.net. they offer an amazing level of support and everyone on their staff is very professional, knows their stuff, and will bend over backwards to help you. they can make anything work for you and you never have issues with uptime, bandwidth, or redundancy. they can and do monitor about everything and catch problems before they become problems. i have had basic shared hosting accounts up to multiple dedi accounts with appliedi. they supply great service regardless if your spending $50 a month or $5000 a month with them. appliedi is microsoft gold certified too.

I guess it depends on how long you want to stay an entry level site. I also have used too many hosts to list and my first pick now has to be Resposio. If you're serious about your website being more than a hobby, you need to talk to Noah.

Resposio has provided more than just hosting for my clients and I can tell you first hand that the marketing and SEO advice / work that he has provided for them covers more than the just the basics and has been invaluable. To call him a host just scratches the surface of what he does, it just so happens that the Resposio team is really good at the hosting end. So many of my clients have gone with the split dedi servers that Resposio offers because of the increased traffic that is a direct result of the SEO and marketing work that Noah and his team have done.

Just a thought here, but when you're choosing a host, going with the cheapest is a sure-fire way to the biggest headache you have ever had. Look back at some of the horror stories when people choose a host based on who is the cheapest... Affordable is not the same as cheapest - that's my .02

Good luck Russell! Keep us posted on your progress :)

I've used different hosts over the course of my time developing solutions for my clients. I stumbled across Resposio (formerly CNCWebNet) in what is now considered the "dark years"...

Same song of uptime, customer service, bandwidth, redundancy can be sung by me, however, the clients that I have switched to or new clients that host with Resposio experience a drastic increase in search performance which in turn reflects on increased sales.

Are you seeking a host or are you seeking a host with excellent marketing services on top that increases your sales?

A can o' worms can be opened in this thread...Oh well...Good luck with your search and I wish you the best in your online adventure!!
