I'm not sure what is going on here. I may be making my edit in the wrong place.
Occasionally I will get an order where the customer's email address has been entered incorrectly. After it bounces, I contact the customer and get the correct email address. I then go into the user section, and correct the user's email address.
When I go back to the order it still displays the incorrect email address with view order. But when I go to edit order, the email address displayed is the corrected one from my user edit.
View order - it is incorrect. Edit order - it is correct.
When I email an order update from View order - it bounces with the incorrect email address.
I had the same situation with BV4 and I had to correct the email address both with user edit and order edit to get the correct email address in both places.
What am I doing wrong?

I don't know what I did but it seems to be working fine tonight. I make the change to the user and comes right through to the order.

The user's e-mail address is actually saved onto the order, we must do this because of the fact that we allow anonymous users to checkout, whom might not have an account to look up. But we still need somewhere to save the e-mail address to. What I am assuming is happening is that when you go in to edit the order it is pulling up the users account. If you save the order when you edit it, I believe that the user's e-mail address will be re-saved to the order and will cause it to update. |

I just verified this, and it is correct. |

Ah Ha.
I bet I was hitting the back page button instead of updated the page by hitting save changes.
Thanks Justin.

We will look to see if there is something we can do about this in SP2. Nice catch. |
