I must be dense, but I can't find a way to edit the Category Page layout and Product Page layout in the same way as the Home Page layout. Is it there? hidden? Do I need to hand edit the files?

Some Category and Product page templates have content columns on them like the homepage does. For those template you can go to Conent->Columns and look for "System Category Page" and "System Product Page." For templates that do not have content columns you will need to directly edit the template files which are located in /BVModules/Category Templates and /BVModules/Product Templates

thanks. somewhat related - the item counts effectively double-count when you have subcategories. So we have five subcategories with 5 items in each, and the top count is going to be 30 instead of 25. Is there a way to have the count not include the subcategories themselves?
i.e., it ends up like this:
Category_all_items (25)
Category_with_subcategories (30)
Is there some other way to do it that would make the counts correct?
