I have most items in my shop, and there's a few products that will drop-ship for me same-day, so if I run out, I want to "pretend" like its in shop and let the customer go ahead with the order without saying it needs to be dropshipped.

So I keep changing it to "Leave on store - Ignore Inventory", but it reverts back for me all the time now. I just noticed this of course yesterday as I was updating my inventory for the launch today.

Any suggestions?

I have had the same problem.

I have deduced it is not reverting back. That just happens to be the default value when you bring up that screen. However it will revert back if you click save or update instead of leaving that screen some other way.

I would suggest BV change the choice to a default null value like Choose to help keep an admin (me) from inadvertently removing a product from the store by mistake

Hehe, I came here to post the same thing! This made me very happy to see that it is working behind the scenes, lol.

So it does save it correctly, but when you click the inventory page, the "Remove from Store" always shows no matter what. So yes, remember to change it back! :)

It would be nice to have a system option regarding the default for that flag that should be applied if there is no inventory defined.
When I add new products, if I forget to go and set the flag it defaults to "Remove from Store" so my products don't appear unless I go to it's inventory and set something there. It would be nice to have a default val that get's applied if the prod has no inventory entered (that means no line in the bvc_ProductInventory)

We are only seeing this issue when inventory is disabled for a product. If inventory is disabled, then this setting doesn't really mean anything because you can't remove a product that doesn't have inventory enabled. Are you guys seeing this behave differently?

Justin:
What we are seeing in Edit Product - Inventory is a drop down list labeled "When this product is out of stock:" which displays the following options

Remove From Store
Leave On Store (ignore inventory)
Show Out Of Stock (allow orders)
Show Out Of Stock (do not allow orders)

Because "Remove From Store" is on the top of the list, it is the one that shows up every time you go to that option. What we are saying is, no matter how many times you change it, every time you go back to check it is at the top of the list. Even though it is not the option selected, it looks like the option that was selected. In other words it can be a little confusing.

The danger lies when you go back to change or update your inventory, if you forget to change this option from its default, you will change it to "Remove From Store" on "Save Changes".

This is important for us and a few other people. For us, all the dates, times and a map to the rink are located on our product page. We leave it on our site, when sold out, until the date expires with "do not allow orders", so people can go back and check the dates and such.

I think the fix would be to set a default null of "Select" or something that would lock the page up if you didn't change this option. I know I need all the Idiot Proofing I can get. I get in a hurry sometimes.

Would it be possible to get a screen shot of your inventory screen when this happens...because what I am trying to say is that we are seeing this behavior, but only when the "Enabled" box in the grid is not checked. Which makes sense, this setting doesn't mean anything unless inventory is enabled.

Bob,
I (used to) see the behaviour reported by Justin. If the "Enabled" Checkbox is no checked the combo goes back to the default "Remove From Store".

I actually changed my site to have that checkbox Enabled by default and "Leave on Store" the default item. Because there are no defaults read by the website whenever I create a new product I have to go to the Inventory and just click "Save Changes" to get hte "Enabled" and "Leave on Store" applied.

Ok. I think I have the attachments loaded. Should be 2 different Screen Shots, in order 1 and 2 showing time.

This is what I am seeing on our site.
