I noticed that there isn't an option to do a sale by Manufacturer? Why is that, will it be added to furture updates?
We often do sales based on manufacturer. I know i could do it by catagory, but that could be alot, as each manufacture will have multiple catagories.
When setting up sales and offers. If you select a catagory does also apply to all sub-catagories for that catagory? Or must you select the subs as well?

Though we do not have sale by manufacturer, we do have sale by category. You could then use the dynamic category feature to add all products by a particular manufacturer/vendor.
I will look into your category issue. It could be the sales are not cascading down to sub categories. This may have been by design. Some users may not want to the sale to cascade down. I think having an option to cascade the sale down to subcategories would be neat addition. |

There was no issue with the category. I basically was asking if i only needed to select the root category. Or did i need to select the root category and all the subs as well.
We are a manufacturer. But some of our products are high cost and specialized and we do not put them on sale or with only small discount. So we create a couple different manufacturers names for ourselves, even though some of those items are in the same category as others of a different manufacturer. So that we did a sale on our products we could easily exclude those items or not give them as much of a discount.

Hello Dan. Yes, that makes sense. The sales currently will not cascade down to the sub-categories.
I will add in a feature request for this and the ability to create a sale by manufacturer/vendor. |
