BV5 URL Rewriting and Migration from BV2004/SmartURL

With BV5, and its url rewriting feature, the SmartURL add-on for BV2004 is no longer needed or supported by its developer (I think).
With that said, a store thats running BV2004 and SmartURL , that wants to migrate to BV5 will need to manually copy/paste each existing url (as SmartURL writes it now) and put that into each product page in BV5 so that BV5 will rewrite the URL in SmartURL style. Correct?
I wish BV5 had a setting "Rewrite URL's in Legacy SmartURL Style" so it'd write all url's in the same manner as SmartURL did/does.
Does this make sense or has anyone encountered this yet when migrating from BV2004/SmartURL, over to BV5 with its built-in url rewriting feature ?
