Does any one have an idea why google would not recognize the site map in .aspx and is there a work around that?

Thanks,

Because it isn't the kind of sitemap it's looking for. It's looking for an XML sitemap, which BVC5 doesn't generate. There may be some here who have an addon for this, or there are several methods of manually generating one.

Thanks for the insight. In the process of generating an XML site map. was hoping I did not have to go re create the whole thing but I guess some things we can't avoid. Should we consider this as a Bug seeing that All Shopping carts site wants to be ranked high and indexed by Google?

Thanks

I wouldn't consider it a bug, since the sitemap that BVC5 offers is really just for users. The XML sitemap that you can submit to Google/Yahoo!/MSN is just something that BVC5 doesn't offer.

Submitting an XML sitemap won't affect your actual rankings, though, just to be clear. It just helps the search engine better understand your site's structure, the weight you put on which pages, and how often you update them. They choose to care or not. At least, that's the official word.

Thanks for the Info and Knowledge. The Whole Marketing thing is so tricky and changes daily. I did manage to configure an XML sitemap and submit it and ever thing seems to be fine. Thanks Again.
