I'm getting the following error on Product pages (it redirects to /Error.aspx?type=category):



<H1>Error finding category</H1>
An error occurred while trying to find the specified category







Currently the site in question has the Auto Rewriting turned on for both products and categories. In both cases the prefix is set to the same value. If I change one of the prefixes (make them different) the problem goes away. I was looking at the source code, but I couldn't find what changed between SP2 and SP3. Perhaps something in the stored procedures (I didn't look at those)?

Is any errors showing up in your event log? Also, what prefixes are you talking about?

No, the Event Log is not showing any errors. The "prefix" we are referring to is the URL Rewriter prefix for Products and Categories (i.e. www.mysite.com/PREFIX/Rewritten_URL_Goes_Here.aspx). Both prefixes are set to the same value.

Yes, if you set both prefixes to the same value I could see how this might cause issues. The rewriter would have a hard time trying to figure out if you are looking for a category or a product.

We've been running a live store for months without a problem, so something has changed. Did you alter the stored procedures? I saw there were some changes to the UrlRewriter.vb file, but nothing that seemed to cause the problem we're seeing. I thought our live store was running SP2, but looking at the DLL versions I'm not sure. They say 5.0.0.947, but it doesn't seem possible that we're running a pre-SP1 store given when we launched it.

We have figured out the issue with this and we are looking at releasing a hotfix.
