Can I get a 10% off sale to apply to the modifiers also? Doesn't matter if I choose 'site' or 'list' price, the 10% off figure drops to 8% when modifiers are chosen that raise the final full price cost. Why isn't the bottom line figure used for this calculation?

How can I get a real 10% off sale? Do I have to say "Up to 10% off" knowing it'll be lower at the checkout?

Hi Mitch,

I have yet to make a storewide sale or discount on my site...I'm still working out some issues with functionality.

But, can you elaborate?

Are the modifiers the shared choice modifiers that change pricing?

As far as I know, I think you would goto 'Marketing -> 'Sales', then select a Sales Type, and also select 'Percentage Off Site Price' and 'Discount Amount' = 10

I'll try to set something with a shared choice modifier and see if it works, I'll get back to you.
I'm going to need this to work as well when a user selects a shared choice modifier.

It goes deeper than all that. A price modified via a modifier isn't 'seen' by the software the way you and I see it on the screen.

A 10.00 shirt with a 10.00 modifier for the large size = $20.00.

A 10% sale incorrectly gives $1.00 off, not $2.00 it should be.

Maybe BVC6 will get it right.

Mitch,

There are a variety of ways to apply discounts and modifiers to products and every merchant wants them applied in a different way. Getting it "Right" depends on who you're talking to.

If you're not happy with the way our built in discounts are applied our custom programming wing would be happy to give you a quote to build plug-in discounts that work they way you want them to.

Just for the record:

SALE: = a modification applied to a product before selections and before any other requirements.

OFFER: = a modification applied after product selections and sometimes requiring other conditions.

To get 10% off a product after a modifier selection you have to create an "Offer" on the product in question. You can create an offer without any requirements other than the customer orders it.

Thanks. Offers is working as a shopper would expect, 10% off of the final price. Now, if the "You save 10%" text would show on the product page.... I know, you can't have this work 17 different ways - "You save buy one, get one free" would look silly.

I don't use sale pricing often, but it'd be great to have complete instructions on some of these less used features. I did look in the manual first.

We're working on updates to the BVC5 Manual. I know it could be better in some places.
