I have added a file download to a product for download but there is not a download option after checking out. How do I get this to work?

After the order is paid and accepted your customer will be able to download the file. |

Do they have to create an account or can they just use the checkout process where you do not have to create an account?

Creation of an account is not required (one page checkout mode). But then the order needs to be fully paid. Also, you need to charge the CC (not authorize). |

I'm not sure how that works with anonymous checkout enabled. If a user creates an account, they can log into their account and go to their order history. When they view the order the downloads will appear once the order is marked paid. I believe there was an update/bug fix in SP4 that allows a customer to download the files from the receipt page assuming that the order is paid at that point (i.e. you're capturing the funds at checkout rather than authorizing them).

Is there a way to set it up so that the user gets an email with a link to download the file after the order is complete? This seems like how it should work. The having to go back to your account click on orders etc is quite clunky. Does anyone know if this is possible?
