UPS WorldShip connect via ODBC to BVC Database?

Hello All,
I'm at my wits end and I'm not even sure I should be messing with this problem to begin with.
A client decided that they wanted to use UPS' WorldShip to handle thier shipping (I believe because that is how they do thier retail shipping as well). UPS asked for a ODBC dsn to be created allowing them access to the database (which I was able to do). The problem begins where it looks like the shipping address info is inserted into one field (ShippingAddress) in the bvc_orders table as xml (I don't know if the info is somewhere else in individual db fields?). Currenly they don't have a way to parse that field. I'm not prepared to try and modify the dll and db to insert the data into separate fields.
This is my first BV software store, so I'm not sure what the difference is between them using the built in UPS shipping and what they are trying to do by connecting with an ODBC DSN. I don't think that I can "get" the shipping info for them using this method of connecting.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I should proceed with this?

Just get Andy Miller's Shipper for BV and it will take care of it for you. |

We figured out a way around this. The solution was to create a stored procedure to copy the shipping address data into a temp table for each new order, and then point WorldShip to that temp table. BV stores the shipping address as a bunch of text in one field. Our solution worked fine, but then we had to cut and paste the tracking number back into Order Manager. This solution allowed us to use the integrated scale and print labels on our thermal printer in the shipping department.
Ultimately we decided it is faster to print from Order Manager than to use WorldShip, but we did get it working just fine. We also looked at a 3rd party shipper product, but decided it didn't solve our basic issues and was not the right solution for us at all.

Thanks O2G (and everyone else as well) for the help. That's the route that I'm going to pursue.
