We're considering starting an affiliate program with an outside company but are wondering if we should first give BV's built-in affiliate program a try.

While BV's system appears quite basic, the major upsides seem to be no significant start-up cost, monthly minimum or third party commission on each sale. Downsides appear to be the hassle of managing the program and recruiting publishers.

For a small company, though, BV's program may be adequate.

Is anyone using BV's affiliate feature with some success?

Thank you,

Joe

We only use the affiliates system for conversion tracking of campaigns. I think you've nicely delineated the pros and cons of using it. We're using Commission Junction with our clients.

Thanks, Aaron. LinkShare is the one we're tossing around right now, but I have heard good things about CJ, too. I think both are similar in terms of costs.
