Greetings:
We would like to add a Twitter Widget on our BV5 website. We tried to add the widget on the hone page as well as the on dedicatd Custom Page. BV5 will not save both pages after the widget Java script is added. To test the script we also created and HTML page with just the script and uploaded the HTML file to the website. The page loads fine and updates with Tweet information.

It seems that the problem is the Java script being integrated.

Can anybody help us find a solution for this. We would rather have the Twitter widget integrated to BV5 so our theme and colums are accessible and the landing page has visibility of the Twitts.

Below os the widget script:

&lt;script src="<a target="_blank" href='http://widgets.twimg.com/j/2/widget.js">&lt;/script'>http://widgets.twimg.com/j/2/widget.js"&gt;&lt;/script</A>&gt;
&lt;script&gt;
new TWTR.Widget({
version: 2,
type: 'profile',
rpp: 4,
interval: 6000,
width: 470,
height: 200,
theme: {
shell: {
background: '#f09e1a',
color: '#f2f29b'
},
tweets: {
background: '#ffffff',
color: '#706970',
links: '#b8bfb5'
}
},
features: {
scrollbar: true,
loop: false,
live: false,
hashtags: true,
timestamp: true,
avatars: false,
behavior: 'default'
}
}).render().setUser('getfeetwet').start();
&lt;/script&gt;

Thanks in advance

Where did you try to add the script on the home and customer page? If you tried a HTML content block, i dont think you can add javascript to it.

I've had better succes with using the "RSS Feed Viewer" content block and then styling it via the theme stylesheet.

Widgets are cool... but.... there's the jscript drawback.

You can access your tweet feed by clicking on the RSS icon on your main twitter page, or burn the feed through a service like www.feedburner.com to better tailor the feed to your needs.

Hi Brian:

Thanks for the reply. I actually added in an HTML block and also in Custom page. Let me know if you have a solution we look into.

I also read Matt's recommendation and I will research that. I am a newbie on Twitter and I have not setup an RSS feed. I will rading up on it and see how far I go that approach. I like the Twitter idea since it will kill a couple of birds with one stone. Currently we have static bulletins on our website that we have to update every so often. To do this, we need to modify the HTML code. We also ahve to send emails to clients about these information as they do not visit the site on a regular basis. With Twitter, the clients who signed on will be automatically notified with the Twit. The Twitter widget is suppose to replace the static bulletin board. All product announcement Twits will be list there and the nice thing about is we can Twit the update using a web browser or even SMS via wireless phone (or echofon app, etc).

We are close but encountered this technical problem. I appreciate any input.

Greetings Matt:

I started working on the RSS Block. I was able to get to work using an RSS feed from CBS website (news) just to test. I did see the feed on our site but when I tried to add an RSS feed for Twitter it does not show up.

I used RSS feed:

https://loginid:[email protected]/statuses/friends_timeline.rss

Note that the loginid and password info is replaced by our actual login and password.

Can you tell me what your RSS URL format is.

Please advise

Greetings Matt:

Thanks for the reply. I was able to get the our Twitter RSS Feed on the our home page using the RSS block.

I can see why you had to work on themes a bit to get present a better look. Can you do me a favor and give me a sample of the styles.css where you modified the RSS block look.

Thanks for all your help.
