Hi, we've got 2 sites, on same server and SQL Server which have reverted back to their default settings, Skin, Taxes, URls etc etc.

Can't figure out what has happened as no one has been working on the sites.

Anyone got any ideas, starting to sweat it now!!!

Any info much appreciated, thanks

Something doesn't sound right. In order for this to happen, the database would have to be restored to an earlier date which can't happen by itself as far as I know. If you look at the website files, are your customizations still there (CSS, HTML, etc)?

Hi Greg,
we thought the same but it's weird all the product info is current and up to date, images, prices etc. As well as any orders. If we change the themes back to the custom theme all css and styling is correct but options are incorrect.

It seems confined to the Admin > Options settings. Most have been un ticked like ssl, structure names, Payment Gateways have disappeared altogether, and getting error on the shipping area, no shipping is now getting applied:

Admin > Options > Shipping - there is nothing shown in the Create New Drop Down. When clicking Edit for a method listed in Available Methods, the following error is shown:

"Error, editor is not based on Content.BVShippingModule class"

We tried restoring from the last known back up but doesn't change the options back, it updates the invoices though as in 1 weeks difference between the good back up.

We migrated servers 2 weeks ago and all was good for 1 week, second week we had to restart server and database which is when everything went belly up. Hosting company said they haven't touched anything as we are on a self managed server. So scratching our heads on this.

Apologies for the long message, thanks for getting back to me.

HAVE ENCOUNTERED THIS BEFORE!!!

Don't know what it was, but a reboot of the server (or site) fixed it. Brendon at Resposio looked at it with me, but we didn't figure out what it was. It was this EXACT same error and behavior. I freaked out a little (just a little) when it happened.

Thanks for the info Tim, we ended up testing the database on another server and all was good. We brought the database back over to the new hosting and still the same.

Got up the next day to find all was back and working? Who knows what went on but like you we were freaked out.

We've moved over to a better server and fingers crossed all good at the minute.

Thanks for getting back to me, helps to know similar situation had occurred and not just us.

Thanks

This is exactly how it happened for me. I also had this happen locally on a dev server. I don't know what caused it, or what fixed it... but rebooting a couple of times seemed to flush it out.
