Unable to save product. Unknown error. Please check event log

Does anyone know why I might get this error "Unable to save product. Unknown error. Please check event log"? Even after clearing the event log, I still get it. Is there something I'm doing wrong on the back end when updating a product that causes this error? Do I have a box checked when it needs to be unchecked or something?
I'm new to the BV Commerce 5.5 store, another coworker had been in charge of it and when they resigned, I was put in charge. So I'm just trying to stumble my way through it.

Your database might have filled up.

I've hit that error when I've tried to clone an existing item and forgot to change the SKU or the item already exists in the DB. |
