I am using BV Commerce 5 and want to increase downloading speed of my site pages (www.officialticketcenter.com). For this I would like to know is there a way to compress or decrease the sized of some common external javascript, and CSS files.

Thanks,
Kman

You may want to start out talking to your host. Ask them about enabling HTTP compression on your website. That alone will make a big difference. I checked your site and it is not turned on presently. You also are running IIS6 which may mean it is not possible to do unless you have a dedicated or virtual server.

As for file compression one of the best tools is the YUI Compressor. A bit tricky to use at first.

We've build CSS compression into BV Commerce 6 so that will be coming soon. Microsoft has a library available to compress JS files that you should search for too.
