Hi,

I'm relatively new to BVCommerce. Would love to be able to do shipping rates more specific than each state, and filter down to differnet prices for zip code ranges or counties. I'm using freight trucking and this is how they charge our company. Is this at all possible, maybe with some customization. Any suggestions would be appreciated?

Thanks,
Andy Miller

You could use my Shipping Rate Rule Providers to do this.

Andy's Shipping Rate Rule Providers are great! We use them on just about every BV site that we build. It's amazing the shipping logic that you can construct without writing a single line of code.

Ok, I downloaded the trial. I will check it out in more depth later today. Offhand do you know if it is possible to make rules in there based on zipcode/country for instance that apply to first items and then separate amount for all additional items. like $65 for first, 20 for each additional thereafter.

Yes you can using a combination of the By Item provider in BV and Order Rules provider in the Shipping Rate Rule Providers.

Use the By Item provider to create the base charge for the first item, second item, etc.

Then use the Order Rules to calculate the cost. For example,

If Destination Postal Code is greater than 90000 and Destination Postal Code is less than 99999, cost = Rate From By Item x 2.0.
If Destination Postal Code is greater than 80000 and Destination Postal Code is less than 90000, cost = Rate From By Item x 1.8.

etc
