Hello all

Does anyone have a step by step upgrade procedure for updating to BV6?

Thanks
Tom

Presently there is not an upgrade path. You could put up a new BV6 site but there is nothing yet to import data from your BV5 site. Also, I would advise waiting a while to do anything with BV6 other than an experimental site to learn what is there at present. More updates to BV6 should be coming soon from what I understand.

As I understand it, BV6 is done in ASP.NET MVC so while it is based on BV5 it is in many ways a brand new product. Just like comparing an ASP.NET 1.0 application to something written in ASP.NET 2.0.

BV6 is Web Forms just like BV5. It is not MVC. Exceptions are it is written in C# rather than VB.Net, uses .Net 4.0 and is a web application project now.

Thanks: 4 times
Was thanked: 11 time(s) in 10 post(s)
I would just like to add to Kim's comment that the MVC Framework does need to be installed however due to the references to the System.Web.MVC dll within the project.
