I use Papyrus font quite a bit in my ads, home page header, etc., and I'd like to use it for my h1 font ( Cat. page title and prod. page title). My question is, is it a universally used font, so will anyone but me see it? |

Only those visitors who have Papyrus installed will see it. I believe it comes bundled with either Windows or certain Windows software. But, no, not everyone will see it and it would probably be difficult to find a backup for your font-family to match the dimensions for those who don't have it installed. Also keep in mind that Papyrus isn't a font that looks very good without smoothing, so the majority of users who see it may see it with aliasing. On the new L.A.M.B. store, one of the requirements was that a specific font be used for titles, so in these cases I generally use sIFR, which replaces the text with a Flash file using the font on the fly. You can see an example in BVC5 here: http://l-a-m-b.com/Categories/On-Sale.aspx |

Thanks cliff.
Kinda what I thought. I've been using Papyrus as a graphic font for years. Too bad.
I like to keep things simple, I'll stick with as-is for now. I spotted ".sIFR-hasFlash .maincontentwrapper h1 ", etc., in the LAMB CSS a few days ago with no sign of a script font... now I know. |
