Hi,
I'm trying to add rebate forms that can be downloaded from the product page. this is for products that have rebates and a mail-in rebate form to fill out. I looked at the sales & Offers which would have worked perfectly, but there's no way to attach a file to those or to display text to describe the rebate available. The only solution that I can see at this point is to display the files from the file vault in the product page, similar to how the Myaccount_Orders_Details.aspx does when there are files attached to an item.
I tried copying the code from that page to the products page but I can't get it to work. If anyone could be of assistance in this matter it would be greatly appreciated.
Note: I had posted this topic in a different section of the forum but figured I should put it here instead.

Not sure how big your catalog is but you can create a Product Type Property called "Rebates" and manually place a link to the downloadable Rebate form(s). Assign this type property to any given product type and it'll appear on the product page in the unordered list.
Time consuming if you have a huge catalog.
Could be easily missed though, I'd tap a programmer for a more advanced version where the Rebate Form link is included in the shopping cart page as well as any confirmation emails sent to the customer. |

Yeah, I had already thought of that before, the catalog is fairly big though. Also the rebates are at times applied to single products which is easy to manage but there are also ones that cover multiple products of a specific brand, plus having the ability to set the date the rebate ends would help manage this properly.
It would be more efficient to get this done from the sales/offers section or even the file download/vault section as they allow to be added to multiple products and have active dates you can set to keep them in sync.
Thanks Matt for taking the time to reply, I'll wait a bit longer to see if anyone has suggestions, input or help in this matter before going the archaic method of manual links.

A link to a custom page(s) can be added to the long description via bulk product edit. That's about as easy as I can think of a way..... Editing the custom page(s) is about as easy as editing an offer, maybe easier. |

Sometimes archaic ensures accuracy...LOL.. :)
Has to be a way to do it programmatically. |
