Version: BVC 5.01

I am reviewing a demo of BVC5. The shipping choices for USPS in the dropdown does not show international airmail letter or international air parcel methods (There are also other methods).

Also, it looks like you configure each method individually. When they show in the admin under "available methods", it only says "US Postal Service". I have three configured (Priority, Express, First Class). You can't tell which is which. Should have the method next to "US Postal Service". Am I doing something wrong?

See Picture (If it attaches).

Thanks, Bob

You can rename shipping methods. For example, I named the one in the attached images "USPS Express"

Thanks Andy, I'll look. Initially I did not see where to rename. How about the other USPS methods that I did not see in the list. Will they be there? The only ones I use for international shipping, I did not see in the dropdown list.

Thanks,

Bob

As far as USPS Internation postage rates go, I talked to the help desk (I'm guessing because they weren't any help) for the web managament section. Good news is, they have rates for all international mail. Bad news is the only rate they will quote through web management tools is International Global Priority Mail. International Air is what we wanted. It has been that way for a couple years now and I don't expect any changes in the near future. No one seemed to think it was a problem.

Now my question is: How do I log into USPS web management tools web site to get postage rates? There is a place to enter the URL for their server under edit shipping method USPS, but no place to enter username and password like we had in BV4. Do I add it to the end of the URL and if so, what syntax do I use? I'm a real novice at this stuff.

Thanks

Bob,

Thank you for your comments. Something does not "sound" right in that major USPS international methods are not available. I have Endica and it shows all the available methods and rates and uses an interface with the USPS. BV4 had it international mail, but it did not work correctly, it dragged in International Global and express whether you wanted them or not and there were other problems. I hope there is a solution since I mail to Europe exclusively with International Air Letter.

Attached is a screen shot of BV4 dropdown for USPS

My understanding is, your screen shot is all on the BV side. But when it talks to the USPS web tools, they only push Global Priority rates back. At least that is what the help desk told me after several calls.

We don't do much International mailing but when we do, we want to mail International Air as well. I'm guessing Endica gets their tables from USPS and plugs them into their own software. If they are taping into live tables on USPS web tools, BV should be able to do the same thing.

Thanks for the tip on Endica. I wonder if we could interface something like that to BV5.

I believe Andy's BVC5 Shipper product can tie into Endicia (both are incredible products/services).

Thank you for link Cliff. Shipper does work with Endicia to automate USPS shipment processing.
