Installing the patch to a shared server turned out to be a headache so i ma a little leary of SP1. I downloaded SP1 but there are no installation instructions. Is it too much to ask for a a readme.txt file that explains the install? Right now all you do is run the .exe that fires the .msi. I like to know what it's going to do first.

Are you talking about the full version of SP1 or the patch? In the patch we do have installation instructions. In the full version we felt that the installer walked you through the process fairly well, but there could be some ambiguity. What did you need help with? |

How about some basic instructions. If I have installed BV5 SP1 on my local machine and I am running on a shared server is the process just FTPing all the new files over top of the old? I presume I don't want to run the Site Manager. At least with the 5.01 patch this tried to create a new SQL Server. Like I mentioned previously, a Readme.txt file with instructions would be a simple thing to add.

It sounds to me like you want to install the patch, not the full version. I would get the 501 to SP1 patch and run this against your local copy. Then move it all to the remote server. The patches have instructions in them on how to install. |
