Should developers install SP1 considering they are working with the code?

Will there be any issues?

Everyone running BV Commerce 5 should install SP1.

Thanks Marcus.

By the way, would I need to download the source files again as these are updated??

What areas of the product does the service pack address?

In summary: Do I need to uninstall my present BV Commerce, remove all VS projects including the core, and install the service pack along with new(?) source code files?

Thanks.

Dom,

The service pack is not limited to one area of the product. There is a patch that you can use to upgrade your 5.01 release to 5 SP1. You could also remove your current copy and start with a fresh SP1 version if you want. Make sure you run the 5.01 to SP1 database scripts if you manually merge the service pack.

Marcus,

Thanks for replying.

My version is 5.0.0.621.

My question is whether the downloads in my account are all updated to feature the improvements. For example is the core source code in the downloads section updated with SP1?

When using the source code, I am creating the core.dll, which would overwrite the .dll in the standard SP1 download. Or have I missed the point?

I have not applied the 5.01 Patch because I am not using version 5.01. Help me out here because I think I'm getting really confused.

I just want to be using the very latest version of BV Commerce 5 Visual Studio Developer pack (SP1).

Thanks.

You should see files listed as "BV Commerce 5 SP1 Developer Pack" which has the core source for SP1. Also, the "BV Commerce 5 SP1 Patch with Source" will upgrade both your store files and source code to the SP1 version.
