377: OPEN - Product Types do not display if added after product creation

Steps to recreate:
Create a product type, Type A with three properties
Create a product, Product A assign and define the product types
View the product, all is fine.
Add two more properties to the Type.
Define in the product edit page
View the product, only the label shows up, the values are not present and are left blank.
Potentially related to product caching being enabled.

With product caching disabled in the admin you can force the store to recognize the change by changing the product type, saving, and then changing it back.
Still a bug that I'd like to see acknowledged and fixed.

We will log this one as a bug and look into it further. Thank you. |

With product caching enabled in the demo store this can easily be recreated when changes are made to either product types or any type of choice. They do not show up until product caching is disabled so I'm guessing this one is a simple caching issue that can be corrected.
Again this is on your demo store, so I know this problem exists with all users of the software.

It would be nice if saving the product cleared the cached version of the product. I'm not sure it is a bug. I'm pretty sure the same behavior was in BVC2004 and I know it is in all the other store software I have installed. That is, every other ecommerce package I have used that includes caching displays a cached version of the product and changes are not visible until the cache expires. |

Andy I agree, although this one isn't technically a bug it still has the potential to cause some headaches. I agree the solution is probably finding a way to flush the cache on saving changes.
