Can anyone tell me why the HECK I keep getting the following error when I try to create a store. Also, I created a store and I was getting numerous errors so I tried to remove it. Well, now it keeps telling me that my licensed is already used! Any idea how to fixes these?

GG,

The first error may have something to do with which version of the software you're running. Do you know if you have SP1?

The second error is telling you that you have already used your one store license to create a store. BV Commerce 5 is licensed per-store so you either need to delete your first store before creating a second or use a different license file for the second store.

I can't delete the first store... I get the following error. Regarding the version I am running, I unzipped the BV-Commerce-5-SP1.zip file and ran the setup. The option in my Programs bar says 5.0.0.750

Any more ideas on how to fix this? Why were there 4 different .zip files in my order, did I install the wrong one? Did I forget to install one? Any ideas?

GG,

You can try running "iisreset" at the command prompt which will stop and start your web server. Then you can manually remove the web site and delete all the files. Lastly, in the site manager you can delete the site file only.

This should get you back to an empty site manager so you can try another install.

GG,

Read this thread. I also had this problem only with SP1. The only thing that seemed to work was unimstalling.reinstalling the bvc5 site manager.

GG,

Have you created a support ticket at http://www.bvsoftware.com/support? That is the best way to request support because it allows us to track the issue from start to finish and make sure it is resolved.

GG,

What's your order number? I'll check your account and make sure it contains the latest files.

Thanks: 1 times
I was running into that exact error message on a machine that had both SQL2000 and SQL2005 installed. Don't know what fixed the problem, but it went away when I uninstalled both SQL servers and BV5. I then installed only SQL2005 and then BV5 and it has worked fine from then on.

The thread posted here does fix that exact problem if you follow the exact steps. I can recreate the error easily and get around it by following those steps.

I ran into the same problem, the fix works.

Why you can't delete a store? Well beats me but I had the same problems and had to do everything manually, the installer has actually removed the site files only 1 time out of maybe 30 tries on 3 different machines.

The site manager has a race condition where it asks IIS to remove the web site and then immediately attempts to remove the files. IIS spawns a new thread when removing the site and sometimes it take a couple of seconds. If IIS doesn't respond fast enough the site manager will attempt to remove the site but IIS has it locked.

We'll fix this in SP2 by adding a couple of seconds of wait time during the site delete process.
