Hi,

When editing a category that ocurrs on page two of the categories list, the sub categories do not display so we can't delete them. If we re-order the categories by moving the errant category up to page one, the sub categories appear and can then be deleted. This just wasted 20 minutes of my time trying to help a customer. They are not impressed.

In the mean time a complete (for me) workaround is to change the number of "Admin Side Rows Per Page:" in Options-Display Settings.

Strangely BV decided that we are not allowed to display more than 100 lines per page. For me, thats my choice but validation says max 100, poor thinking there.

We just posted a hotfix for this.

With regards to the 100 lines per page, well, if we fix the number then people complain, if we set it to 100, people will complain, and if we don't set a maximum, then people will set it to 1000 and then when it takes 30 seconds to pull up their users page people will complain. So, until we get to the point where we have a rows per page on every page (which will probably be implemented with a combo box like most sites do, which will limit the number you can display) we are just going to have to settle for allowing the users set their number of rows per page, but then limiting it somewhat.

I understand that you realize the implications of setting this value to a higher number, but a large percentage of our users won't and a lot of them run on shared hosting. If you really want to set it higher, then you can go into the bvadmin\configuration\admindisplay.aspx and find the "RangeValidator" on that field and change it to allow you to set a higher number.

Anthony,

Flexibility is always good, but to say a limit of 100 is poor is not really thinking it through.

You can VERY easily crash the app pool your site is running in by allowing thousands of returns. So the site crashes, all carts are dropped and the money pump just lost it's prime, now THAT is poor thinking.

Use caution when opening these values up.
