In BVC2004, under the Advanced Settings there is the choice of displaying the customer choices as a Grid-Multiple Selection. I have been looking in BVC5 for that setting and cannot find it. Is that option still available and if it is, where is it located?

If that option is not available, any suggestions on how to create a multiple selection choice?

Thanks,

I believe the choices you are looking for can be found in the Catalog - Category tab. On the upper right corner of the edit page there are about 7 different templates you can choose from.

If this is not what looking for try looking in the manual under product choices, input and modifiers.

Actually what I am looking for is the ability to specifiy customer choices so a customer can choose multiple combinations, like 4 Black Mediums & 5 Red Larges at the same time.

The templates that you pointed me to change the layout of the products in the specific category. Which was something I didn't know..so thanks for that good tip.

I also have checked out the online manual and haven't found anything on input or modifers. The only info I have found in the manual is the basic info on product choices like how to create radio buttons, drop down lists or html areas.

Thanks,

Michelle

BUMP! -

I need to track down this capability too.

I can't believe that it was removed from the feature set for BVC5 (BVC2004 had it). I suspect it's just located in a different part of the admin and is just hard to find because it's buried in all of the other cool new features!

This feature was not added because of the complexity of the choices and the time constraints before releasing the software.

It seems to me that everyone is looking for an option for displaying each choice with a corresponding quantity textbox?

You got it Nick! I assumed there was just another way of doing it, but I couldn't find it.

BV Commerce 5 now uses plugins for product page layouts. This means you can have an unlimited number of ways to display choices. Unfortunately, we did not have time before release to build product templates for the grid view from BVC 2004. We're working on service pack 2 for an early 2007 release and I'll see if there is a way to squeeze the template in.

I meant " displaying each choice with a corresponding quantity textbox?"

What I am looking to do is:

If SkU: Ring1 comes in sizes 5, 6, 7, 8, 9

Product Page would show with each shared choice / size with a Qty text box.
User could enter qty for each size and click add to cart, which would add ring1-5, ring1-6 .... to the cart

Jazz, as far as I can tell, it wasn't added in SP2.

Nick is correct. The feature several of us need for many BVC5 stores is like the one in BVC 2004 called "Grid - Multiple Selection". (It is not an array like MitchA described.) The choices are displayed vertically with a quantity box for each one. Customers can enter a quantities for several choices and add them all to the cart in one click. It was very useful for customers.

Thanks,

Linette

Hello Linette,

The choice grid that was offered in BV 2004 will be included in SP3.
