Hello,
Was wondering what the process is in the BV5 shopping cart related to the PayPal button and Google Check out button and the Promotional code field (cart Page) and the gift certificate field (second page of checkout). The cart page has PayPal Express button and customer would be taken to PayPal. The gift certificate field is on the next page, which also has a PayPal button. I would assume Google Checkout would be above, below or next to the PayPal express button, both on the cart page and the following page. It seems like the customer could be confused. When would a PayPal person enter the gift certificate number if the clicked on the PayPal Express button in the cart?
Just wondering if anyone has any design improvment suggestions that would mitigate any customer confusion (and also my confustion as a customer).
Thanks,
Bob

Bob, Check the behaviour I have on my website: www.bestgames.com.auI removed the PayPal express button and moved it as a Radio button on the Checkout page. Also I changed the way the gift certificates work to automatically update the GlobalTotal value on the screen after you add a gift ceritificate to show the remaining value if you added a gift certificate. If the GC covers all the value of the order, a "No Payment Required" radio appears so the user can place the order without the need to enter an aditional payment method. I've sent all my code to BV so we might see these changes in the SP2. Corneliu. |

Thanks Corneliu, I was thinking of having both the Promotional code and gift certificate field on the cart page above the checkout button. This way a person would get the subtotal before going to the next page. On the next page, as you have, the PayPal, Google checkbox or the button with the payment methods.
Also, I like your site. Want to point out that if you select New Zealand as the country, the shipping amount says 15.00 - New Zeeland - Regular Post. Don't know if you meant, Zeeland.
Thanks for your input.

Our paypal implementation will change with SP2, and we are going to move the paypal checkout option into the payment list at the bottom of the page, per paypals terms. There was a misinterpretation on our part when we saw that the paypal express must be on the cart page and the checkout page.
With regards to google checkout, the button will only be on the cart page, as google forbids putting it anywhere else. But google has good integration for gift cards, and so it won't be a problem. |
