Can another BV5 website use my BV5 database to populate certain categories? |

Hi Mitch, Currently BV 5 Commerce does not have the ability to connect to and share multiple databases.
You can however, create multiple themes and configure them to look like different store fronts. This would require a good amount of CSS knowledge and some custom programming as well, but it is possible. Because of the difficulty involved with this approach, I would personally recommend setting up a separate store.

Is it not possible to have www.Otherstore.com connect to and display the products in www.Mystore.com's database??? Seems to me if I can get Quickbooks, Shipper, etc. to access it, why not another website? |

Hi Mitch, If you want both stores to share the same products, categories, inventory, and users, it is possible to share databases. But this is essentially just like having one store with multiple themes. Out of the box BV Commerce 5 does not have the ability to read and write to multiple databases, but it is something that could be created through custom programming. If this functionality is essential to your operation, I encourage you to contact us about this project.
Thanks, Everett |
