I'm getting the following error from bvcommerce Payment Error - System error: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond
Is there any documentation on this error?

What was changed? The server that site is on connects to AN all day. The site you mention was running fine taking orders, what changed?
Contact us directly to eliminate the server/network as a cause. |

Is this happening every time or just occasionally? Is the transaction being declined by Authorze.net or are they not receiving it all?
We also am using Resposio and BV5 but we are using Linkpoint.
On rare occasion we get a credit card declined (I check the Linkpoint site to make sure it got there). On these I wait at 20 min or so to get by the Linkpoint fraud check and run it again from BV5 Admin. If there were no errors on the original purchase, it almost always go through without any problems.
Here is what I am assuming is happening on our end: BV5 (I had the same problems with BV4) encrypts all their CC information.
Then our web host establishes another encrypted connection with Linkpoint. (For BV5 it goes through a third party.)
Linkpoint then goes out and establishes another encrypted connection with the Card Holders bank to see if funds are available. Thats why we chose Linkpoint because they said they had a very high level of security.
I think on some of these queries the encryption may introduce a bit of extra lag that may cause the connection to time out on occasion.
I have read reports in the past that some retail merchants do not encrypt their CC transactions to reduce their cash register check out times. In fact it sometimes scares me when my CC transaction is approved immediately in a check out line.

I'm still having a hard time figuring out what is going on with this error. Would stopping and starting the web site on IIS fix it? Also, any other suggestions I could try would be appreciated.
