Hello, The estimated shipping box in the cart shows the country, United States, but there is no box for the state or the zipcode. There is estimated shipping to who knows where. It was working in SP1, Did not work in Service Pack 2. Re-Installed full version. Worked for a while and now it does not. I only have one test product on the site, specifically to test the USPS shipping method. I do not modify, add or delete any code since I am not a programmer. I only tried different Product variations, shared choices etc and at sometime while testing these variations, the state a zip code box stopped showing. Attached is a screen shot. Well, for the US Postal service, if that is the only available shipping method, then the zip code box should be the only one showing up. Are you getting any errors in your event log at all? |

Justin,
I will have to check the log. There is always something there. Will look tonight for anything specific related to shipping and let you know. USPS is the only method configured. Thanks,
Bob

Justin,
There is alot in the log (30-40 pages over two days), mostly related to scanalert. Not sure what to look for.
Still have same problem, get rates, no zipcode box. Created another product. Randomly, I get no shipping costs, just 0.00. Other times I get values.

Hi guys,
To add some info to this.
Here's what I think is happening.
If I add something to my cart. Go to checkout, enter in a state, let's say GA Go back to my cart Click on estimate shipping rates The state does not show up. If I type in a GA zip code, the full list of rates shows up. If I type in another zip code, let's say VA, 23112 then only one shipping option shows up. -My guess, it appears to select the shipping state by default as opposed to making a clean rate check.
Does it make sense?

Joe, My problem is that I don't get a zip code box to put the zip code into. I only get a country box.
I am probably going to have to submit a ticket on this.
Thanks,
Bob

Bob, is it possible that the shipping method (USPS) doesn't require a zip code in order to return ship quotes for this parcel size? |

Mitch, No, I have two test products, one .4 ounces, in which case it could be shipped anywhere in US without a zip for first class mail. The other is 1 lb, which would require a zip code and it does not work. I log off, clear cookies (to make sure my address is not pre-populated in the cart), open store temporarily and try it. I get rates for some USPS methods, but not sure how calculating (see attached). If you go to checkout, there is no address there, so I don't know where the calculation is coming from. The ship from is the store, but there is no ship to zip.
