I'm a little perplexed -- I've been working on my catalog -- I deleted my old categories and rebuilding them in a more logical fashion. I create a category, then a subcategory. I add products to that subcategory, yet when I go to the store no items are displayed. What am I missing?
Also, I cannot get Upsells or CrossSells to work at all. I have the items checked under Options --> Orders and add both types (cross/up) and yet when I add an item to the cart nothing happens.
Is there something that I'm not doing - like "reloading xml" or something? |

Joe, I just now created and populated sub-cats and they aren't showing up here either. I've tried all of the controls I can think of... It's not just you. |

Joe, To get UpSell/CrossSell displayed did you set the up for your products in the Product->UpSell/CrossSell tab for each product? Regards, Corneliu. |

Works for me on one test.
Make sure you have both your categories and you products active. Check the display in top menu check box on both your category and your subcategory and the active button on your product.
I'm on SP2.

Mitch -- I found out that you have to go into each product and turn Inventory OFF and then back on and it will show up. Now, I would have to do that for 1200-plus products, so I'm hoping someone has a fix to this. |

Birdsafe, I'm not sure what is happening when you enable/disable the inventory and I can't repro your problem but if you can figure out what field is changed in the DB when you do that I could comeup with an SQL query for you to run.
You could try to run this on your DB: "update bvc_Product SET TrackInventory = 1" (backup first!!!) This query will enable inventory for all your products!!
Talking about this, can someone explain what is the difference betwen "OutOfStockMode" on bvc_Product and on bvc_ProductInventory?
Thanks, Corneliu. |

Thanks for the help -- actually all products and categories are active. Inventory is enabled but levels are currently zero, set to "Show as Out of Stock (Allow Orders)" -- yet I have to open the Inventory screen and merely save it to make the product show up.
I might just run the script on the DB or manually change the column to "1" for all products, though I have some products that I do not keep track of inventory.
Now that I have that solved, I have to figure out why the cross/upsells are not working. |

Joe, see if this does the trick. It's old so I don't know if it's in SP2... http://forums.bvcommerce...lt.aspx?f=79&m=43483Let me know... |

Thanks Mitch - not sure how you think that thread would help -- I've looked at and still can't get upsells/cross-sells to to work at all. |

Hey Joe.
Open a ticket with our support department (if you haven't already) so we can take a look.
Thanks! |
