Hi there,

We're just looking at maybe purchasing and using BV Commerce to replace our in-house system as we no longer have the time to maintan and update it.

We've used Worldpay since our start and are very happy with them, especially the fact that we have never been required to store credit numbers.

Am I right in thinking that BV Commerce only integrates with Worlday using the Select Invisible method? If this is the case, does this mean we now have to store credit numbers or can this be "switched off"?

The reason I ask is that in order for Worldpay to enable the Select Invisible method on our account, we have to literally jump through hoops and comply with the PCI Data Security Standards (https://www.pcisecuritystandards.org/) - not a bad thing I know, but it's something we've never had to worry about before as we didn't store credit card numbers. Plus, we're a little nervous about storing credit card numbers anyway!

I'd appreciate any answers, comments or viewpoints that you may have... what does everyone else do?

Regards,

Jason

Jason:
We have our store set up to convert all our credit card numbers to zero's as soon as the Credit Card is successfully charged. If the credit card is declined it holds the number (encrypted) until you get the problem resolved.

This is a change we made to the software (it was posted in this forum) but I believe the default is 7 days. After 7 days, all completed transaction CC numbers are converted to Zero's unless you change it. The Zero's are all encrypted as well.

Hi Bob,

That sounds great, if we don't have to store PAN's then we don't need to be compliant with so many standards.

I've tried searching for the post you mentioned, but can't seem to find anything. Any chance you could post it again or emial it?

But am I right in thinking that even without your changes BVC will convert all CC numbers to zeros?
