I dunno.... I'm getting really tired of testing this stuff...

Please go to:

http://www.missionfurnishings.com/Products/Belmar-Mirror--Horizontal__MAS205H.aspx

1. Select small size, flat glass and note the price, and add to cart.

2. Go back to the same mirror, select large size, beveled glass and note the price, and add to cart.

Why did the cost in the cart for the second more expensive mirror switch to the cost of the first???? On the product page before adding to the cart, it's correct!

I can do this with any products on my site. If the product is identical, but different price modifiers are selected, the price of the second piece switches to match the price of the first when it's added to the cart.

I do not have 'Merge Identical Items" selected.

What gives?

We are trying to get a few other issues we are trying to get resolved so that we can roll those into the core hotfix. We hope to see something within the next week or two. We apologize for the delay.

Anything soon?

Is it a 'same SKU' thing?

I can't be the only one having this problem.

Mitch,
We can reproduce this same issue. You are not the only one.

Was thanked: 1 time(s) in 1 post(s)
I suspect the core hotfix that Justin was hinting at was scrapped in lieu of focusing on SP3.

Hi Mitch,

If most of your product typically use modifiers, try unsetting the "Merge Identical Items in Cart" option from the settings screen. Because of the way product modifiers work in that they all use the same sku, these all get merged together.

I think this type of issue has been occuring alot because it is not clear when to use a product modifer and when to use a product choice (thanks to the lack of documentation of course). Obviously, recreating your database at this time would take an extreme amount of effort, but stuff like size and glass type, I think were intended on being setup with the "Product choices" rather than modifiers. I see the intent of product modifiers to be used for stuff like Do you want it gift wrapped and stuff like that that may change the price or something else very subtle, rather the entire product change like occurs with a size change.

Cap,

I've never had 'merge...' set. Most of my goods are either bulky or heavy and can't ship together. I can only assume 'merge...' is solely for shipping considerations. Lack of documentation otherwise suggests it's use is so intuitive, it couldn't be used for anything else. Certainly not to change prices on the checkout page.

This, if not at the level of a bug, is not working as intended. From a shopper's perspective different products with different prices should carry through to the cart un-altered. The fact that the SKU didn't change isn't my shopper's problem.

I know I'm stretching the modifier thing but SF6 handled this all without a hitch. Products to cart... add the column, done.

I'm sure it'll be fixed... seems simple enough. Product to cart, retain the price, done.

Wow, this problem is huge for me, too. I'm glad someone noticed it because I've already been loosing money over this issue. My site is few products with many modifiers so this will happen all the time for me.

So, SP3. It seems that any time SP3 release date is mentioned...silence. The forum items specifically asking are a "no response". Why the big secret? We're out hear trying to keep our live sites afloat with no promise of a rescue boat. SP3. Release date. Hello...Hello... I think I lost the connection...

Well, I just lost $152 on my last order because of this issue. It would be great if this issue could be fixed in the VERY near future so I can stop loosing money on a daily basis with BV5. Expected date for SP3?

GregA.

You can set your cc processing to authorize only and capture after editing the order and getting approval from the customer. Most will not even be aware the calculation is wrong. Of course, you'd have to manually look at every order and capture the ones without this problem.

MitchA,

I hear you. I just have a problem with going back to the customer for an increase of 33% on an order. My hope is that BV's fix is right around the corner. But that is why a SP3 ETA is needed so I can make this kind of dicission...
