Object Reference Not Set to an Instance of an Object

I just tried installing and running BV Commerce for the first time and I'm getting this error. Now after reading these forums I realize that I must be having some kind of problem connecting to the SQL Server but I don't see what that could be. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the store with the supplied defaults for everything with no luck. I'm pretty sure the connection string is valid.
I'm using SQL Server 2005 Express. I've made sure that SQL Server has the ASPNET account with permissions to the BVC5 database. I know ASP.NET is working since I've separately tested it. I've also used the aspnet_regsql.exe app to set some settings for ASP.NET. I've also enabled ASP.NET 2 in IIS. The only thing I can think of is that I installed SQL Server 2005 Express before I installed IIS so i wonder if there is something else I need to do.
Any suggestions?

I ran into the same issue. Hence I created a new user / password and used that in the connection string. So u might want to specify User ID and Password in your Connection String instead of Trusted connection.
