Any idea why I get this error from PayPal and I can't charge orders? <SPAN id=ctl00_MainContent_PrivateNotesField_ctl04_NoteField>
Charge Error: The PayerID value is invalid.
Thanks,
Corneliu. |

Yes,
This occurs when a customer clicks the "Checkout with Paypal Express" option and then waits to complete the checkout on the paypal site. The paypal express checkout token expires and the token becomes invalid. Unfortunately, there isn't really a way around this other than to notify customers that they have 10 minutes to complete checkout after clicking checkout with paypal (its actually 20 minutes I believe, but I use 10 so they understand the limitation). The only other option is to create a workflow task that ensures the timeout was not reached when it comes back to your site and if it has, show an error to the customer rather than except the order. |

I've got a support ticket in on this -- I get at least two a week this way -- I can't imagine that many customers are lagging for 20 minutes at PayPal. This wasn't an issue at all with my other cart. |

Hi Joe,
As someone who has integrated the paypal express system into several sites (non-bvc) and having a working knowledge of the paypal api, I am 100% certain that this is the cause of the error. What I will agree with is that bvc does not do a very good job of dealing with the situation when the situation occurs out of the box. As with most things the behavior of how bvc handles this issue can be changed with workflows.
I'm also not sure how storefront works, but most older carts bvc2004 included, do not use the paypal express system for paypal payments and typically |

I'm also not sure how storefront works, but most older carts, bvc2004 included, do not use the paypal express system for paypal payments and typically require a customer to manually send the payment themselves which is one of the reasons you have probably seen such as increase in usage. They rely on paypal insant payment notifications (IPN) to "integrate" with paypal, where the newer paypal express/web payments pro is more of a direct api. |

David,
But my older cart used PayPal Express in the same way. The only difference is that BV5 has the button on the Cart Page which then bypasses the checkout information and I think customers without PayPal accounts are trying to use this in error. My old cart didn't have customers manually sending, it was with IPN, which is the same way that BV5 does. I do not and would not have a Payments Pro account. |

I had my site for almost a year now and we only started to see this error in the last 3-4 weeks. And we are during a low period of our site. Maybe it's a change on the PayPal side? Corneliu. |

This only suddenly started happening to us too, after working fine months before. I've contacted Paypal numerous times.
The old shopping cart also used Paypal express, but I've never seen this error. |

This has become a serious issue. It happens consistently for some customers and I'm fairly certain it's not a timeout issue. Has the BV team tried to solve this at all??
