Let me first just say that we know that SP3 has been a long time coming and we apologize for the delay. The issue that we have currently is that the bundling/kitting code is not yet complete and it is going to hold back the release of SP3 until next year. It affects so many parts of the product that we just don't want to rush this feature in and break things. We have a lot of testing and refining that need to be done before we think it is ready to be rolled in.
So here is where the opinion part comes in...
If we just release SP3 as a bug fix release, then we can have it out in 2 or 3 weeks. If we want to keep bundling/kitting as a scheduled feature for SP3 then it is going to be pushed back until probably early next year. If we release SP3 in the next two or three weeks then bundling/kitting would be pushed back to a SP4 release that probably wouldn't be out until Q2 next year.
So what would you rather see?
a) bug fix only SP3 by 1st week in November and then SP4 with bundling/kitting in Q2 2008 b) SP3 with Bundling/Kitting in Q1 2008 with SP4 To be determined
On a side note, please let us know what the most pressing issue that you have with SP2 is currently. We really really don't want to have any bug fixes left out. |

Option 'a' for me. I don’t really need kitting. It might be a nice thing to have, but not on my hot list.
Items of interest: (some are bugs and hurt function, some are minor annoyances)
Volume discounts and price groups… bad math at the cart page. Same item/same SKU with different modified price not holding price at cart page. (A promised SP3 fix, thank you) Better error/event log controls. Better manual. Too late for anyone with 100+ posts on the forum, but I know a few who went elsewhere for lack of a real written tutorial. |

Release SP3 without kitting.
1) SP3 should contain the ability to edit the entire order, including shipping cost.
2) Shared SSL should work with SP3, as currently there are some issues, as I have mentioned in the past.

Release SP3 ASAP, kitting later. Take care of the customers you have now which bought without the expectation of kitting.
I think a pressing issue should be the release of some clean templates like Cliff's Fresh Start. It would be nice to have that as a starting point...

I agree -- I'm having a big problem wtih teh pricing groups not taking affect if a customer starts checkout first. The customer has to log in first in order for the reduced prices to take effect. |

We're happy with SP2, but the software definately needs some additional documentation even if they start with some examples. I have no idea what the pre-post content columns are for or how to use them, how I can use columns to our advantage or what any of the CSS tags apply to. We look at it this way, the product is very good without kitting, tie up the loose ends (give us at least one or two additional product layout templates, category templates etc in addition to a few more overall templates), bug fixes, and solid documentation WITH examples on how to extend the product. At some point I'd really like to see a dropdown list with swatches similar to this: http://easylistbox.com/demoCustomized.aspx I think for any of us dealing with colors in our products this would make our lives a thousand times easier. I can't imagine it would be hard to implement something similar.

I would not bother with kitting based on that fact that it is currently holding up SP3. BV releases SP3 next week with kitting, just how solid is that kitting feature going to be?
I vote for an extremely solid SP3 that fixes MAJOR issues only with no kitting.
Something to consider is how many bugs surface (merchant & customer found), are posted, solved and patched in a timely manner post SP3 install?
In my opinion, the holidays are here and I glance at the amount of hotfixes posted after SP2 and I have to say I would be hard pressed to upgrade a store later than next week. |

A lot of potential customers are waiting for your BV SP3 to release! Why not concentrate on what you can make it done now! Then taking care of your kitting later! Big season is coming! Time is money!

One more (maybe) minor thing....
How hard would it be for the 'ship to' addressee to get an email feild. It would be great to be able to cc shipment notification to the person actually receiving the product, such as when a gift is sent, or for drop-shipping for a retailer. |

And how about sorting by price/name/manufacturer on the category/search pages?

[3]I am voting for SP3 now.
Most of us made a custom changes in the source code and it would be hard for us just to do the upgrade. I think it would be useful if we could get list of all changes which were applied to the SP3.[/3]

I would like to see SP3 now.
I would hope that back order notifications are addressed and that Froogle Feed starts to work properly.

Please get the sorting features back into SP3. Those are such essential usability features!
I only say it again now that I know there is no way of doing it OOTB.

SP3 now and kitting ASAP (hopefully it won't get bumped to SP5!) Can you please bring back the BVC 2004 feature for Product with Choices/Variations - display as grid with multiple selection? Clients who upgraded from BVC 2004 miss it terribly! There are several forum threads from others wanting it back, too.
Thanks, Linette

SP3 sooner than later please.
SP3 Improvements:
1) use username first and last info gathered when making an account to popluate proper checkout text boxes
2) make shipping fee editable by admin
3) make backup shipping scheme for if fedex fails to return a result and be able to change "To Be Determined. Contact Store for Details"
4) make the database store the sku and descrition after an order has been placed instead of being dynanamic
5) shipping using UPS thermal printer
6) allow admin to be able to process foreign country orders
Thanks, Brad
