How does customer get Gift Cert. Code? (Sending email from Order Mgr causes error)

Hopefully there's a simple answer to this, but I've looked the the docs and forums and haven't found it. How does customers obtain their Gift Certificate Code after purchasing said gift certificate? I thought maybe the store owner needs to go to that order and just send a "Gift Certificate Template" email. However, doing this causes the following error: Code: This Email Template Could Not Replace All Tags. E-mail Will Not Be Sent."
Happens on BVC5 SP2 Steps to Repro <OL> <LI>Go to Order Manager, select an order that contains a Gift Certificate. * Select the "Gift Certificate Template", and then click the Email button. </OL> Then the error listed above and the email is not sent.

It sends the email message when the payment has been processed, but the admin sending of the message never executes the code to replace the tags that are in the GiftCertificate.vb routine. |

So, when would somebody use the "Gift Certificate Template" email template in the Order Manager - is there a situation where it does execute properly?

You would have to wait until BV has a fix for the admin button to work right. I assume it would be used if there was a change that was needed to the certificate, like being reissued because the customer lost the original email. |
