I tried a search for "minimum order" but nothing came up. I just recently took over webmaster responsibilities at a company and I have been informed that old versions of BVC had an option to select a minimum order amount. The newest version does not. Does anyone have code or suggestions on how to implement an option to require customers to purchase above a minimum amount before being able to checkout?
Thank you.

Chris,
There is a box at the bottom of the product edit page that allows you to set minimum qty for each product.
Oddly, it defaults at 0. I can place an item with a quantity of 0 in my cart, but why? |
Optimists invent airplanes, Pessimists buy parachutes. |

Not sure if your asking or trying to answer my question. I am specifically speaking about currency amount. It isn't cost effective for us to sale a $5 item and have to pay the man power to receive, ship it, pack it, and track it. So I need to be able to set a minimum order amount of $25. It is my understanding it was a part of past versions but not the current one. I need it for the current version.

Edit the workflow below:
Options - Workflow - Checkout Selected - add a step Min Amount - edit the step and set minimum amount desired. |

Chris,
1) Go to Options->Workflows
2) Edit the "Checkout Started" workflow
3) If it's not there then add the "Apply Minimum Order Amount" task
4) Click the "Edit" button next to the task to set a minimum order total

Thank you for the support, it worked like a charm. However, after notifying the customer that the minimum order amount had not been exceeded, it still allows the order to be processed. Is there a way to kick them back out to the main page or something similar?
Thanks,
Chris

Still looking for a follow-up to this question. Any suggestions on how to block the user from the purchase after they are notified that they have not exceeded the minimum order?

You can add the Minimum Order Task to other workflows. Try "Process new Order"

Just wanted to bring this thread to a conclusion.
Adding a minimum order task to the top of both "Checkout Started" and "Process New Order" resolves this issue. Thank you to all who helped out. I really appreciate the help.
