I saw that the new Protx gateway is included in SP3 - great! But, before we move to SP3 I need to find out if it uses the latest VSP Protocol v2.22 or above. This protocol is required to move to 3D Secure credit card processing, which in turn is required for Maestro support.

Anyone know anything about this?

Many thanks,

Jenny

Hi,

Did you get anywhere with this? Have you got Protx working at all?

I have done some tests and BVC does not work with 3D-Secure switched on in Protx. Since the banks are one by one making 3D Secure compulsory (Natwest and HSBC made it compulsory on 1st Feb) we need to do something fast. We have 3 customers using the Protx gateway with BVC.

It looks like we are going to have to write 3D-Secure support ourselves because Protx and Maestro cards are both popular in the UK. It is a big problem for us.

On another matter, for anyone having problems with the Protx gateway and Maestro/Switch, I found out that the credit card type specified in the BVC credit card set-up as "Maestro/Switch" is actually Maestro International. The credit card type specified as "Switch" is actually UK Maestro and Switch. It would seem that the Protx documentation is misleading.

We have now fixed our Switch/Maestro problem by changing the entries in the database table, CreditCardType:

Code SWITCH has LongName = Maestro / Switch
Code MAESTRO has LongName = Maestro (non-UK)

So, Switch/Maestro cards now work fine as long as we don't have 3D-Secure switched on!

There are of course other probelms with the Protx gateway which we are working on (test system and refunds for some cards not working).

Hope some of this makes sense.

Did you get anywhere with Protx / BV on this 3D secure issue -its causing a lot of headache right now!
