Product type properties / get an edit to apply globally?

Do we have to edit each product (re-load product type) in order to have an edited property 'take' or is there a way to load each product type with the newly edited property? |

I was just about to report this bug... i have a defualt value for a type property for all my products. It should stay the same thoughout my entire catalog. If I save any product, and then change the default value of the type property, none of my changes take place on any of my products.
I would understand If i changed the type property while editing the product, but i never touch it. Once i save changes, it acts like i changed the type property. Not good...
This stinks because i have a global type property that i never touched for any of my products, but because i changed prices on most of my products and hit svae changes, i have to change each product manually (over 1000) to what i want the new default value of the type property to be. SQL Find and Replace hopefully will work ;)

This is #1113 on the SP3.0 'fix list'. How does one update the type properties without re-loading each product individually? |
