Can someone please tell me how to change the order of the Display Template dropdown box on the "New Product" page? I'd like for Bvc5 to be selected by default and not BV2004.

Thx.

You can't :(
But if that is the only template you use I would just ignore the template, add all my products then run this on your db:
update bvc_Product
set TemplateName = 'BVc5'
to update all your products to use that template :)
That's what I did on my site.

Corneliu.

hmm.. They appear to be in Alphanumeric order. Just a thought but try changing the name. I would recommend trying it on your test site first. Or better yet, make a duplicate template that starts with an A.

I just tried it.. Works great.

Yes,
Renaming is a good option, but if you rename you will have to fix all the existing products to point to the new name.

Thought about that Corneliu. I kept the old name and theme. I just made a copy of the one I want as default and changed the name on that one. Of course in the future if you make modifications one of the themes you will have make them on the copy too. Or..... if you are only using one theme... Change the names on the ones you're not using.

Think I'll test some more. See what happens if you change the template name. You're right. Renaming breaks the existing template selection.

Bob,
Then to avoid future confusion you could update all your product to use the new default template (that I guess starts with "A") by using my sql command so you don't have the old template anymore :)

You can also use the Product Batch Edit to change the template.
