I am working on updating from BV4 to a new BV5.3.2 store.
I have vendors that I send drop ship emails to directly. We use the automatically generated drop shipper emails that are part of BV.
When an order is authorized, the automatic drop shipper email is sent correctly.
If you send a drop shipper email manually by selecting "Drop Shipper Email" from the drop down list on the order, it sends the drop shipper notice to the customer instead of the the drop shipper email address.
Is this a bug, or is there something I am missing?

I just noticed that admin order receipts are also sent to the customer when the "Admin Order Receipt" is selected from the drop down menu.
Are all templates sent from the drop down list automatically sent to the customer?

"Are all templates sent from the drop down list automatically sent to the customer?"
Edited out line containing misleading information.
The drop-ship email goes upon capture, not authorize. Also, it'll be sent only when a check is entered and the order noted as being 'paid' through Order Mgr. |

No, this doesn't happen at my store. I can't think of a way to get this to happpen even if I wanted it.

Mitch: Thank you for your reply! My drop shipper emails, is being sent correctly when the order is authorized. My concern is that the email drop down list on the order as it is displayed in the admin area. The drop down list allows you to select the "drop shipper email" template, but when you send a drop shipper email from the drop down list, the email goes to the customer instead of the drop shipper. In my old BV4 store, this email would be sent to the drop shipper. In my new BV5 store, this email is going to the customer. We have an elaborate system of handling drop shipped orders. We do not send drop ship emails directly to the vendor. They go into a tracking system where they are tracked and responses from the drop shipper are tracked. We sometimes need to re-send the drop ship email. The way our BV5 store is working, it is not possible to send a new drop ship email to the drop shipper, because it is sending the drop ship email to the customer when it is sent from the drop down list on the order. Please be sure to note, that the automatically generated drop ship email that is created when the order is authorized does go to the drop shipper. The problem is not with the automatically generated email, the problem is only when you are trying to manually send a drop ship email from the drop down list on the order.

Dean,
ALL the emails send from the dropdown in the order details go to the customer. This is by design. There were several requests to change that but it never happened.
Regards, Corneliu. |

Thank you for your response. I am not all that familiar with BV5, so the information is valuable. It needs to be changed. What would be the point of sending a drop shipper email to the customer? There is occasions where we need to re-send the drop shipper email... this function was available in BV4. I don't see a work around in BV5 that would let us accomplish this.

If you have all your drop ship emals sent to you (to a drop-ship-specific email account) and then you forward them to your vendor, you would then have a "copy" on file from which to resend. |

Actually, we send the drop shipper emails into a management system that we use to manage the drop shipments....
The most common reason that we need to re-send a drop shipper email is because the customer has changed the order before we get it processed. We need to be able to change the order per customer instructions and then re-send the drop shipper email. This would save us from having to manually type up the changes to the drop shipper email. We have gotten used to work arounds... I guess we will continue to do them.

Have you tried adding the "send drop shipper notice" to the Edit Order Workflow? |

Actually, I have glanced at it, but the workflows are something I dont know much about.
I would like to be able to re-send drop shipper emails any time an order is edited.

Actually, come to think of it, it might already be built in, since I seem to get a new Drop Shipper notice sent (to me) if I edit an order). |

I just got my DropShipper email working and automatically sending to the Vendor of my choice, but I was wondering if it is possible to add a ste in the workflow to ALSO email a copy of the request to another email. I tried adding "Email Order" and selecting "Other" to which I send to my email address. It does not seem to be doing anything.... any ideas? |

Multiple emails (better overall comunication controls to admin front office, store's warehouse, vendors, buyers and ship-to recipients) had been requested for BVC5 and has been requested for BVC6. Sorely lacking. |
