Hi everyone...I'm hoping someone on this forum can help me with something that I think is a VERY elementary question.

On behalf of a friend, I'm trying to add some text to this page: www.selamatdesigns.com I want the text to appear below the FLASH photos, and I want to change the title of the page to help with SEO. Right now, there's zero text, so the search engines have nothing to work with for indexing this site.

The entire site was built in BV Commerce 5. I'm new to BVC, but I'm pretty good with HTML, CSS and other very basic web stuff. But I'm 100% perplexed by how to add just a few sentences to this homepage. I log in and can access the admin tools. I can find the homepage under the "Content" section of the admin. When I open it up, i just get an admin screen with "System Homepage 1, 2, and ". Along with a bunch of content that appears nowhere on the site.

I've also tried downloading the homepage off the server so I could edit the HTML, but since the pages are all in NET, i can't make changes to them.

Anyone have any simple suggestions for adding text and changing the page name?

Thanks in advance...I've searched the forums and have been drawing blanks!

You're not going crazy -- first, it appears as if whoever created the Home Page (default.aspx) has replaced (or eliminated) many of the built-in BV modules that would normally appear when you looked under "System Homepage," etc." -- those are normally "includes" to that file, but apparently have been stripped out and replaced by custom text.

You still should be able to edit the file (default.aspx) and make changes in any HTML editor, such as Frontpage, Dreamweaver, etc., though soemthing like Visual Web Studio Express (free from Microsoft) might be a better tool. If you look at the footer div in the file, you could place text immediately above that to display below the flash area.

The Title of the page "Home - Selmat Designs" - can be found under Admin - Options - General. Also under Admin - Content, you can set some Meta tags and info that will help with SEO.

Hope that helps some
