I have search everywhere, and I cannot find anything about hosting. I am trying to find a hosting company to host my site, but a few of them are saying I have to buy My sql 2005. I called Microsoft, and they told me it cost 5k to buy a processer license. I think it is crazy to pay 500 dollars for bvcommerce, and 5k for sql 2005. What are my options?

Host with Applied Innovations (www.appliedi.net) -- they have some great plans -- ecommerce plans that include your SQL database -- and they know BV5 (there is a link direct to them in my signature line)

The two hosts most familiar with BVC are advertizers at the top of this page. I find Resposio wildly helpful. Joe's pick is AppliedI. Trying to predict what sort of help you'll need in the future is tough.... But it will be will be nearly impossible to outgrow either of these companies.

laris,

I have used www.webhost4life.com on a couple of projects.

They are the cheapest plan I have found so far (9.95/month). ssl is $40/year.

The downside is that it is a shared server and the server pool depending on the time of day may run slow.

If you bug them enough they will sort out any issues.

Obviously a semi-dedicated or dedicated solution would be the best, but most of my clients are all poor.

Dave, Get them hooked up with a host that knows his stuff (Noah at Resposio) and they won't be poor anymore.

Been working with Resposio for 5 years and change. I won't touch a website if it's not hosted there!

My comment is not financially/commission driven, just proven over and over again and the orders are stacking up nice and high for my clients as a result of their involvement! The vested interest and involvement they have with your site is tough to find.

I've heard nothing but great things about Resposio, but we stuck with Applied Innovations as they hosted our other ecommerce sites before we made the leap to BV. Those guys never sleep at AI . . . lightning fast support via phone, email and chat.

Bottom line is: Both are very good, based on comments in this and other threads. Both names keep coming up when this request is made.

The key is: Anyone can host BV Software, but these 2 know it very well. Knowledge = less support tickets and less Advil.

this post in no way should be construed as testimonial for Advil or any of their related products. Advil is a registered trade mark for another pharmaceutical company (I forgot which) and you can substitute any generic or other method of pain relief.
