Ok we have a product on our website (really a few but for simplicity lets just concentrate on this one)

Direct link to product.

http://www.tvps.com/Products/SO...---New__SO-BM87DSTA.aspx

The product has a shared choice drop down for warrenty options.

Choose the 1 year/parts labor - $80.00

You'll notice that it adds the $80.00 to the total cost of the product.

Before - $279.00
After - $377.00

Click on add to cart.

You'll notice that $377.00 is reported as expected in the sub total amount.

Now click on Checkout.

This will take you to the checkout page.

You'll notice that the sub total has reverted back to $279.00 !!!

Umm...how do I fix this??

Do you have the latest SP3 installed? I think I remember some issues of similar nature in the past but I think it was fixed in one of the patches.

Hey Jonathan -- I remember purchasing a transcriber from you a few years back -- are you new to BV?

On your issue -- have you tried the other checkout -- does that fix your problem? Have you tried creating a new choice (rather than using a shared) to see if that still has the problem? You don't by chance have inventory set for your choice?

Heya Joe,

We have been a long time member of BV for a few years now. You can see my date joined date as Mar 2005. I remember you from the SF days. I am glad to see you come over to BV.

As for your suggestions. I am running on a live site here and can't modify the one page checkout to the other one. And as for the choice its not acceptable for me to make a choice for each product when the shared choice is supposed to fill that role for me. The purpose of this post is to make to the developers attention a serious bug which ultimately takes away from the customer expierence.

But, what I have tested so far is this:

1) Made sure the Shared choice drop down is setup correctly.
2) Actually removed the shared choice and created a stand alone choice with the SAME results.

And FYI Inventory is not enabled.

Jon,

Did you fix it? It works fine for me -- price stays at $377

Its still not working for me. Did you actually goto the checkout page? The cart page works fine but the checkout is where its messed up.

I tried all three of your options, all three made it to the checkout page intact. I even placed two in the cart with different options.

Pessimists buy parachutes.

Yes, I went to checkout and it remained intact.
Have you tried with another login?

Yep tried different logon and still showing the error. I thought it might be cache so deleted all of that too and still shows the problem. Even tried Firfox/IE7 and it still shows the problem.

Go to the library and give it a shot.
Have you tried building the same with modifiers? Make a test product (don't clone the original) and try modifiers and see what happens.

I reproduced it

if you add to cart or view your cart while NOT signed in, then click checkout you will either log in or create an account and finally be sent to the checkout page and the CORRECT price will be listed.

- BUT IF -

if you are already logged in, and view the item in your cart, then click checkout... you are sent directly to the one page checkout and it reverts back to WRONG price

Alright, while logged in and after setting a ship to address the price in the cart remains correct and the price in the single page checkout goes back to WRONG PRICE. The minicart total in the header also shows the WRONG price.

It seems that I am only seeing the WRONG price when I can also see the shipping method options. When I don't see shipping methods then I see the CORRECT price. I double checked this by deleting my zip code... the shipping methods disappeared and the price readjusted back to CORRECT... put my zipcode back in and the price goes WRONG again.

Okay, at first I thought that I could not reproduce it, but BetterBuilt.com is correct. As soon as I requested shipping rates on your site, the price reset. I did it locally with shipping rates (non-UPS) and it worked fine. So, it appears that we might have an issue where somehow the UPS rates are causing something to recalculate.

Do you know if someone actually places the order, does the order come through with a correct or incorrect subtotal?

This question is aimed at both jonm and BetterBuilt:

We have turned on UPS rates locally, and we have setup a product with shared choices, but we are unable to reproduce it locally. Are all shared choice products doing this? And if not, is there anything discernible about the ones that are resetting versus the ones that are not. Also, if possible, could I login to someone's admin section and look at the setup for these products, so that I can better reproduce them?

Thanks.
