<SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; COLOR: black; FONT-FAMILY: Verdana">I installed sql express 2005 as instructed in the out line. I created a user called express on the local pc, when in did the sql installation I selected mixed mode auth outline in the create new site outline, but when I go to create a new site and click on create nothing happens, I do receive an error in the event log, (login failed 18456) but when I create a site under the "sa". It works ok. According to the setup doc it does not recommend that I us the sa account for a live store. therefore I am having a problem as to what would be the next step. Do I use the sa account?<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

I think the SA acct is needed for your local testing, but when you move to a live server, then your host can set things up for you so that it is secure -- that is working from memory when I installed. |

make sure the SQL login you created also has permissions to the database you're installing. For example, create a blank database called "BV5" and give the sql login you created "db_owner" permissions to the BV5 database. Then run the site manager on it.
