I looked at the manual and its lacking (big surprise there). So I need someone to help me figure out what could I be doing wrong with my Price group setup. =)
I figured all I needed to do is goto People/Price Groups and modify a price group with a name and choose percentage off of site price. Then I goto the user I want to have that price group and select it from the drop down list.
Then the only they would have to do is log into our store and the price adjustment would be displayed for them?
This does not seem to be the case and I am scratching my head on this.
I even looked at the workflow and it does say apply price groups.
Thanks! |

Jon -
That is pretty much how it works.
1. Create price group and select pricing discount 2. Assign user to price group 3. Log in as user to view prices
One thing that may hang you up is how you selected the price discount. Did you select percentage off of site price, list price, etc? Make sure you select the proper price to remove the discount from. I had a situation where my MSRP prices were empty, and one of the selections didn't work because there was no price associated with it...
Hope that helps.

I tried both List & Site discount and I still don't see them discounted when I assign them to a user. Of course I am running all the latest patches as well. |

As Greg said: List Price is for MSRP, so if that's empty, the Price Group discount won't work for that product. Site price is the main price of the product (ie what you pay when you add it to your cart). And just in case. . . don't get these confused with Cost, as that's something totally different.
I'm currently using Price Groups on my site and they work fine. . . Here's how mine is setup:
Name: 10% off Pricing Type: Percentage Off Site Price Adjustment Amount: 10.00
Then I go into the User editor and Edit a user, and set his/her Price group to 10% off.
When that person logs in they get the discount.
It is also important to note that the user must be logged in and authenticated (ie entered password), in order to get the discount.
I hope this helps. |
