How do you select a display template for a gift certificate, the option isn't there in the admin for gift certificates (at least not that I can see).
I can't see why there would be a display template for products, but not one for gift certificates :confused: |

Well, I managed to find out the solution myself. Just in case anyone else is having the same problem, here's the solution.
Quite simply, you cannot assign display templates for gift certificates. Instead, there are two gift certificate layouts in the source code, one for fixed price gift certificates and one for user defined gift certificates (ProductTemplates > FixedPriceGiftCertificate > Product.aspx and ProductTemplates > ArbitraryPriceGiftCertificate > Product.aspx respectively).
I'm not going to try and elaborate on the reasons behind it being done this way, I'm just relieved that it works.
Of course, this is all immaterial since gift certificates still don't issue when purchased, which means I have a fancy looking page selling something I can't sell. |

GC are issued once the order is paid for. I've tested that and it works :)
