I'm going to assume this is a bug because no one's offered any sage advice about how to get it working.

Gift certificates don't work. I can create them and assign them to a category, but when someone buys one, they aren't issued, so there's no way to redeem them.

I've checked the workflow, and the items before and after the issue gift certificates workflow are being hit, so I would assume the gift certificates one is as well, but it does not appear to do anything.

What service pack and hot fixes are you running? How did the customer pay for the gift certificate? They are only issued after an order is 100% paid.

so for testing purposed, I can't collect payment on a gift certificate order because BV doesnt issue a referenced transaction ID when in testing mode, right?

I prefer to test live. Make a product for a dollar and buy it with cc, check and PO. Mark it paid on the order page(s) for all methods.
